Palmettos at Sunset by Isquiesque Palmettos at Sunset by Isquiesque
The first of a few of the photographs I took last Sunday while visiting the oldest city in the United States: St. Augustine, Florida.

Well, the last of the photographs I took, but the first of those that I intend to post, if that makes any sense...

Lovely sunset through the rolling clouds, and nicely enhanced with the way you've framed it :)

Hm. Thank you. I was bothered a bit by the over-exposure of the sun, as was one other person, but most people seem to be receiving this one well despite that. :)

Thank you. I was a bit mixed on posting it due to the over-exposure in the center, but I'm glad folks are receiving it well despite that.

I don't think it's a bad thing at all .. the sun always does that ;-) I also think it counterbalances the dark silhouettes of the palms ... works brilliantly in my opinion! :-)

IRTA oddest city.

That's a pretty strange cloud pattern. I like it - did you play with the colours at all?

Nope, didn't play with the colors, though I played a tiny bit with contrast in a feeble attempt to get around the overexposure. Didn't work. But I still like the photo, so.

Oh, the texture of the clouds is splendid. I think the horizontal lines they make across the sky provide a unifying effect, as they move all the way down to the tree line, which contrast the sky. Mmm.. very nice.

Super shot. The sun coming through is a bit overexposed. Toned down a little, the colors would have been even better. Other than that, it is a very nice shot. T

Hm... asked for what? Critique? Of course. ;)

I totally agree with you on the exposure. I bracketed the hell out of this one in the time available, and actually I have one that, based on color, I prefer, but I didn't like the composition of that one (it was taken just slightly to the left of this one), and I bounced back and forth on which one to work on further. In the end, the composition won out over the exposure issue.

Thanks for the compliment, critique, thoughts...

i love the linear element of the clouds combined with the silhouetted texture of the palmettos.....and the colour is good too....nice.
