Afternoon Daydreaming by Isquiesque Afternoon Daydreaming by Isquiesque
I captured this image while lying on my back in the grass of Kensington Gardens on a warm September day. I'd just gotten off a trans-Atlantic flight from the Yukon, and my partner didn't have it in him to let me wander about. No, we were to stay put so he could shake off the jetlag. Fair enough. And though I suppose I could have wandered just a little, I didn't see the need. Not when I could lie back in the grass, look straight up, and get a shot of the leaves glowing in the sunshine like this.

the green is exquisite, and the composition/cropping creates a beautiful effect, looks like a black storm in a universe of green...

This is really dreamy... Warm colours shining trough the leaves, I can almost feel the sun on my face. Lovely capture! :)

Simple and elegant. I am trying to understand what it was that makes it so good. The lighting is spot on, but I guess that was automatic.. nice colours... but what was it that _you_ did that make this a good picture? I think it must be the single branch that is in the middle and that breaks the monotony of the leaves. This is what makes it _interesting_.

The branch, the light, the density of the foliage - a number of things came together here. Can't tell you how many times I've laid back and taken a photograph of the underside of a tree... but this is the first one I remember that came out the way I'd hoped. Perhaps there's a bit of luck in there as well.

Thanks for the comment!
